    I’ve had several purebreds in my life and they were far from weak or fragile. They all died of old age. The last was a Rottweiler who was 14 years old, which is unheard for the breed.

    dogs from reputable breeders(those that care for the dogs and the breed, not money) can be the best. Mongrels can be great and so can designer dogs. Dogs that are closely bred for many generations or mongrels with small gene pools are likely to have problems.The biggest part is the owners’ influence. Bad dogs have bad owners.
