Alice: Why are we here? Mom: To get you some new sneakers, remember? Alice: Oh yeah! I want bright yellow sneakers that are real squeaky. I mean real squeaky. Like SQUEAK SQUEAK. So people are alerted to my coming and can properly prepare themselves. Mom: That may be a good idea.

Nothing drives me up the wall more than someone wearing squeaky shoes. Shoe Enough.

They actually make shoes for toddlers with squeakers in the soles. It’s so kids are encouraged to put their heels down when they walk so they don’t “toe-walk” … but oh my word are they annoying in public places! They’d be right up Alice’s alley!

Properly alerted might result in unexpected situations, little Miss Alice–but I’d find them cool too!

doctortoon, your co-worker is probably doing something she shouldn’t be doing (like playing on the computer!) and is afraid you will rat her out to the higher ups!!

when kids hear their sneakers squeak they seem to keep it up to find how loud it can get

Calling bright yellow loud shoes “sneakers” seems a bit of a stretch.

We go outside for recess unless it’s raining, and sometimes it’s wet out and everyone’s shoes squeak when we come in. I don’t think anyone tries to make their shoes squeak louder, though (besides me, that is).
