Carbs in the kitchen? More like staples! Time honored tradition of having ingredients handy! It’s kinda like money, (provided that one has any) these days:
Just because you have a lot of it, doesn’t mean that you use it all at once..,..
We spent several years in the late 50s near Syracuse, NY. Items always kept on hand were sugar, flour, powdered milk. You never knew when you might be snowed in. You could always melt snow for water and bake something to eat.

Almost forgot to look at the second panel!

There’s a second panel?
Actually, the second thing I noticed about the first panel is Fritzi’s kitchen counters are awfully high. Or she’s not wearing her heels today.

Heck, forget the haircut. She looks cute just the way she is!

I know what caused it to grow that fast. It was the fight she had with Sluggo yesterday. It caused an adrenalin rush to her hair.

Fritzy, just cut it yourself! There’s no way to really style Nancy’s afro anyway!

Welcome back, Fritzi. We’ve missed you.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Nancy’s hair getting longer just to see how it would be styled. Ponytail maybe?
