Get Fuzzy by Darby Conley for May 06, 2013
Transcript:
Satchel: You cut back into Bucky's closet? I suppose we lost our damage deposit? Rob: Dude, we lost that the first week we moved in. We pay damage tribute at this point. Essentially, we take a little extra money on our monthly damage fees to cover our rent. Satchel: Oh, whoops! Sorry, I'll clean it up right now. Rob: No, let it soak for a bit. Maybe it'll loosen up the stain under it.

Did Darby die?

LOL @ “damage tribute”! And Darby is probably fine, just on a Gary Trudeau-length vacation. Authors of daily strips burn out very quickly so you either negotiate a lot of breaks, quit or go Sunday only.

It is cheaper than buying the book!

Maybe Conley’s contract only calls for so many original stripes per year. Who knows? Who cares? Just laugh and be happy. :)

I’m laughing happily…. damage tribute is a classic!

The Argon Zark strip (web comic) was going great, but it hasn’t had a new page in 4-1/2 years. Pretty sure that the author, Charley Parker, is still around, but there has been nothing posted AT ALL in that time. It’s easy to claim that Zark is “the longest running web comic” but maybe it should be “the longest laying-there-like-a-dead-spider comic.”
So Darby ain’t doing that bad – by comparison.

As a long-term GF fan, I love this arc. On the other hand, as a landlord I to often feel the pain associated with tenants like these. Maybe I should start collecting “damage tribute” too!!!

I’ve alswlays felt that ice cream that falls out of a cone is so tragic.

This arc ran right after I discovered GF, and I wasn’t familiar with the characters. It “fits” better now.

The Tennessean newspaper (Nashville) recently started running the title of the strip as “Get Fuzzy Flashbacks.” Don’t know what that’s all about but tells me nothing new will be out soon.
