If she’s added fresh basil at the end, that’s very good advice. Once basil’s exposed to heat, the flavor doesn’t last very long. And, btw, if you’re using dried basil, you’re only fooling yourself. Unlike most herbs, dried basil tastes nothing like fresh; in fact, dried basil tastes something like hay.

Fresh Basil….. summer morning at the Farmer’s Market…. three or four four vendors down … I could smell the Fresh Basil. You can’t help but buy.
