Exterior doors open inward for safety of people passing by on the outside, have hinge,s and never a knob in such a bizarre locale. Why is the arrow pointing clockwise when the sign suggests otherwise? Artist could use a ‘book for dummies’. How stupid are we supposed to be?
Doors in pu blic places are supposed to open outward. this is in case of fire – so everyone can get out. too many times they have found people dead up against the door they were all holding closed. sorry to be morbid but thats how it is

Reminds me a bit of the fellow from that “The Far Side” panel who was pushing a pull-only door.

The next challenge: does the door open inwards or outwards?

You have to have pull to get in there!

If it is glass and says “PUSH” backwards, then you pull it.

In the rest of the world we have handles . . . and knobs, too. You are doing a false generalization.
