Mutt and Jeff ran from 1907 to 1982. Bud Fisher drew it up until 1932, then his assistant Al Smith took over and continued it through 1980. This one is clearly Smithâs work. It looks to me like late â50s or early â60s.

They had short skirts in the â20s (hadnât yet invented the word âminiâ). Went back to longer skirts during the Depression of the â30s.

Maybe not in the 20âs (wasnât around then), but they were that short in the 50âs and again in the 70âs.
