The organization emphasizes God to reinforce a prime teaching, that the scout is not the center of the universe, a common misperception/malady among atheists. Atheists are not bad people, but the needs of others are rarely within their sights; only rarely a problem among those who perceive a higher power. I know I prefer to be with believers – better humored.

I’m a bit curious about how many atheists some of you people know? They tolerate other faiths better than many who claim Christianity. They do not need god to tell them to donate their time and money to feeding and clothing the poor. They are actually very tolerant of many different types of people in general.
