I had one that didn’t mind going to the vet. The first vet she went to was a young guy who really knew dogs. He crumbled a handful of something on the table in front of her, and I freaked. She wasn’t going to be ‘spoiled’ .. lol! I asked him what it was, and he allowed as to how it was rum cake out of his lunch.
I don’t think she noticed when he vaccinated her, but she always went into the vet’s offices with a happy tail. I wish all vets and farriers were this savvy.
I suspect my new vet is using pheromones in her exam rooms’; one of my current bitches, who hates being handled by strangers, period, was happy to be examined this year. If that’s the case, I’m good with it, because I hate to make them miserable, however necessary it might be.
