Hopefully, this means that Sam will be living with Phil – which will give Phil ample reasons to spend time visiting Fritzi, Nancy and Sluggo so that they can take turns bonding with Sam.

Also will keep Poochie from getting jealous of Sam, and they become pals quicker.

I don’t think you’d have to worry about that…. even if he did, no contest…. the animal would be recognized as taken from his care….the chance to “reclaim” him would have been while he was in the shelter, and it would seem that during the rescue process that the ownership legalities were cleared (and that would also have been the time for any court proceedings and the like), and it seems that Phil hung by close to claim him, perhaps anticipating the original owner trying to show up (it could also explain why he told Fritzi to not tell the kids yet, in case of all of this)…. ==So it seems that all those hurdles got cleared and all…. kinda like the “time elapsed” thing where the story is advanced, and we see the result….

I was thinking the same thing. He’s still someone else’s dog despite IJB’s legalese. He was kidnapped from someone’s yard.

I see the sea lawyers are out in force today.

Rescue animals seem to know that they were rescued, and tend to give their new family more love and attention…Smokey Joe was a rescue, and he shows he knows it….he’s rotten!!!

Sam will now live at the mission and become a friend to all the homeless who visit the mission.

Lawyers… legalese… train wrecks…..Oy vey……
