I think her mother used to work at our local Denny’s.

She once told me not to order the Captain’s Fish Platter cos it was all frozen fish, and it was only on the “Chef’s Specials” board cos everything in the freezer had thawed the day before.

Another time I was with a friend who ordered a glass of milk, and it tasted a little sour….when we told that same waitress, she sat down at our table and sipped from his glass to taste it.
