As we get older, many bodily processes slow down. As our internal clock runs slower and slower compared to the external calendar, time passes much faster than we expect it to.

I cancelled birthdays. I only celebrate anniversaries (last February I celebrated the 31st anniversary of my 29th birthday).

Life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer to the end it gets, the faster it goes.

UH OH! Adam saying “I must live life!”. What kind of ridiculous situation is he going to get himself into while living life?

Time actually does speed up as a person gets older!

Mid-week! Is it Wednesday already? I’m late, I’m late. No time to sing Hello/Goodbye, I’m late!

When you’re 5, a year is 20% of your life. By the time you’re 20 it’s down to 5%. By the time you’re 40, it’s 2.5%. That’s why things seem to speed up.

I guess that’s as good of an explanation as any. But it doesn’t make it any easier. Especially when you know you have less years ahead than you have behind even if you live to be 90 or 100… and it all passes so fast. So I understand where Adam is coming from.

Well, I’m staring down the barrel of 60, and I think I’d like to keep having birthdays on a regular basis.

When I was 5 1/2, I always wanted to be older. Now I’m 83 1/2 and just started counting 1/2 into my age. Perhaps there a lesson there?

Time goes faster as you get older because once you’re over the hill… you start to pick up speed.

Adam is freaking out again.
