La Cucaracha Latino Employee Diversity & Sensitivity Manual -If you mistake a Paraguayan for an Uruguayan, Congratulations, you have just started World War 3.
I learned long ago in college to not assume where a Hispanic/Latino person is from (or for that matter – anyone) and just be quiet because I’d eventually learn; it would come out during the course of normal conversation. Some guy called a Paraguayan woman Mexican, and he got a pretty loud and intense (yet somehow still sexy) verbal thrashing for it.

And Homer Simpson mispronounced Uruguay as “you are gay” (makes me wonder if he mispronounces Paraguay as “pair of gay”).

Ethnicity is the point, satire the medium. In the real world, bitter and sweet is the norm. If you dig deeper, you’ll find the sand is cooler.
