That old Crosley is probably worth a pretty penny — more than enough to get a replacement radio and a set of guitar strings I’m sure!

I must respectfully disagree that it’s a “waste”…. A lot of Rock and Pop artists have both collaborated with country artists, and innovated new styles, based upon country music… -Poco, Eagles, Neil Young, Skynnyrd, Burrito Brothers, CSNY, Springfield, /Firefall, Ozark Mt., Black Oak Arkansas, and many others pioneered and developed their sound based upon country…=Lionel Ritchie collaborated with Kenny Rogers, Bob Dylan had two breakthrough albums, “Nashville Skyline” and “John Wesley Harding”…. The Byrds and Linda Ronstadt performed as country, rock and pop artists…. Chet Atkins, though regarded as being a son of Nashville, also considered himself a jazz guitarist… Jimmy Buffet also developed his sound, starting off as a country artist…=And like it or not, Elvis and Roy Orbison are just as much Country, as Rock or Pop… without country, where would the Everly Brothers or Rick Nelson be?…. Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Bob Dyllan (the Travelling Wilburys) had country leanings..=This is by no means a be all, end all list…there are many older and newer examples, but just as other forms of music, Country is just as much a part of who we are, as any other…..

For anyone interested: 13 years ago, WSM-AM 650 wasalmost sold to ESPN Radio, but fortunately, the deal fell through. Had it happen, WSM would have ended being another sports-talk station and broadcasts of the long-running Grand Old Opry would’ve end up on the the station’s FM counterpart and on internet radio.

That is how being a famous musician get their start. Strings are about the same price of a hamburger meal combo before the fast food price war in keeping the meal at $5.

I guess you either love it or hate it. But a lot of innovation came from there. It is a unique American tradition loved the world over.

I think besides strings Sluggo needs a bow. What he is holding looks more like a violin than a guitar. Check the sound holes.
