Anyone can do nothing. It takes something special to work towards default. The fact that the House actually took the time to decide who would get what priority for payment in case of default is reprehensible enough, but priority was determined to go to foreign governments before VA benefits and debts to US citizens or corporations. If they would spend half that time trying to save us from default, their approval rating may shoot up into positive single numbers.
While it is easy to poke the Republicans, it needs to be noted that nearly every tool the Rs have used was first introduced and used by Ds. The Rs just use these tools better. The country is going no where fast, and Congress’s greatest success is its ability to divide neighbors and weaken our infrastructure as warned by Geo. Washington.Sadly,C.
I find myself agreeing with Mastereskrain – I actually think a do nothing government is to my advantage. Every time they accomplish something it is to benefit some group at the expense of the average person. Read here: Americans with Disabilities Act, Title 9, etc.
The House Republicans are doing exactly what their constituents sent them to congress to do. Supporting conservative approaches to problems. Democrats would do the same thing if the table were reversed.
I have to ask all of you that say Obama never got a fair chance – How did Clinton Reagan get so much done with a hostile congress? It’s a rhetorical question because we all know that both Presidents did what Obama won’t. They reached out to the other side and compromised. They found a way for both sides to win. Obama thought he got elected King and would be able to dictate his wishes. And if his latest announcement in Galesburg is any indication of his leandings I don’t think he has changed his opinion of his Regency at all.
He will always be a failure as long as he refuses to compromise.
BTW for those of you who think he has already compromised too much (as the press would have you believe) – He has queered every deal he has tried to strike with the Republicans. He did this to himself.
Hmm, ya know I dont recall that at all. How about some examples otherwise you are just blowing hot air. Hell I can say whatever I want without examples as well. Hey do you all remember back in 2000 how every republican wore a dress to Congress? Wow that was weird…
This obstruction stated with Mitch McConnell and his pledge to Cons signed. And, this started before he his 1st day in office. It hasn’t let up, meanwhile the entire country has been tied up. Even still, since obama has turned out to such conservative himself. He is pretty much not got liberal thought in his head, the voters did get ,, well, the voters didn’t have any good choices in either camp.

Obama said all the problems are in Washington! Can we send them all home (including HIM) and start all over with a new crew?
