Was this Alex or did Alex hold another position? I’m not clear on this. Alex is the one who fired Betty but what was her job title?

My guess: Either Alex will be the new CEO; or she’s out on the street, and will try to rekindle her friendship with Betty.
I know they’re referring to The Return of the Jedi, but that scene was actually copied from the Flash Gordon strip, when Ming the Merciless was forced to abdicate.
Remember…Alex was hired by the new CEO to do one thing…fire everyone on the list given to her by that new CEO.
I think Betty lucked out at her new job. I also pity the remaining employees at her old job. Re-structuring again is never good.
