Purple nailed it. Burl is 25% of the way to achieving his goal: getting all the corners.I may have said it before, but it bears repeating (since I forgot) but Burls mouth reminds me of the famous wood chipper in the movie “Fargo.”Good morning to all.
The guy in the back left corner is turning into a lamp!
And that’s JOY, not Verl, in the animal control shirt….
Remember…. Verl wears the little bun and has pointy glasses, Joy is a little bit bigger (inconsistently, like much of the art here) and wears a French twist and oval glasses.
And Verla would never never scold Burl…. he’s her big sister’s husband, and she hardly dares to dream of finding anyone so wonderful for herself.
Actually, Burl is Joy’s hero too….but he’s also her big baby…. and occasionally he’s a little wayward, and she has to lead him by the hand.
You’re also right about the bloke in the upper left corner turning into a lamp — with that star on his head he’s probably impersonating a night light. None of ’em are bright enough for a regular light bulb.
The monopoly game has to be played on the floor. I am surprised Joy didn’t get into the cake also, unless Dale caught them before she got hers. So she gets onto Burl for it.He only took a small piece hoping no one would notice.Well at least he’s honest about being bored.
I don’t think that there are more people than the regular gang there. I think the “guy turning into a lamp” is part of a family Christmas portrait hanging on the wall. There appears to be a picture frame around it. (Yes, this means Burl got bored waiting for, what, 3 presents to be opened?)
The large print Monopoly game was a nice gift, but I doubt Dale really cares that much for monopoly, seems he would be a loser all the time. He isn’t to sharp on the dollar and is always broke.
I’m sure that whatever present Burl brought for Dale is something he “requisitioned” from the Storage lockers he is in charge of.@Stewie, the flowers appear to be clover (very edible) and my book of edible flowers includes the violets also (I think I HAVE candied some as a garnish) and I also see a pansy which is used on many nice salads where I’ve eaten. I think you’ll be fine dining on those.
When I did my groceries at Sprouts this week, there was a “lavender” orchid that was the most gorgeous periwinkle blue! I SO would have bought one if I had a special dinner coming up (but it was $25) and I had a whole cart full of vegetables and fruit with nuts, canned chili, almond milk etc. If they continue to have them, I will probably buy one and eat at least some of the flowers (maybe on a dessert, but I won’t be adding any sweetener (much less have cake or icing).
The sweet taste of ripe peach set off by the tartness of Greek yogurt, or the sweetness of a sliced apple, brought out by nuking with a generous sprinkle of cinnamon is my current kind of dessert.
I’m guessing that’s supposed to be Dale in the photo at the top left. After all he is the “star of the day”. Does anyone know if the Penny’s are related to Dale & Marlene or just friends? I assume this is their home with a family photo that also includes Timmy and his mom and dad and maybe a brother.
@Scarlet, why NOT? Everyone was discussing the star.My guy in Chicago always has a gift (from his collection of mint silver sets usually). He’s sorta convincing me to save some in metals too; it rather have gold chains I can wear (also easily convertible).
I was just checking MY OLD FAVORITES and thought to reprise the CD page with everyone’s recipes (including my Breakfast Bars) which I am now happily enjoying again.RECIPES

He’s got more crust than a loaf of bread.

I would love to see what Burl brought for a birthday present besides his greedy appetite.

Is it just me, or does Verla look particularly frumpy today?

Does the text on Verla’s shirt mean that she’s tasked with keeping Jerry on a dog lead?

Leaky …. er, I mean Stewie….I didn’t mean anything bad by what I said last night… honest….
I was only saying the Find-It was shaped more like Stewie than like a …. like a… what you said.
That DOESN’T mean Stewie looks like … you know. Not at all.
Stewie is very attractive. Very….
OK?
