Lucy and Linus are watching TV. Lucy orders Linus, "Go out in the kitchen, and get me a dish of ice cream." Linus says, "Say 'please'."<BR><BR> Lucy yells, "I'd kill myself before I'd say, 'Please'!!" Linus heads off.<BR><BR> Linus carries a bowl of ice cream back and says, "Here you are.."<BR><BR> Linus sits down to watch Tv and says, "You didn't say 'Thank you'."<BR><BR> Lucy screams, "I'd rather die!!"<BR><BR> The two watche TV.<BR><BR> Linus stretches and says, "I'm kind of tired.. I think I'll go to bed."<BR><BR> Linus gets up and heads off.<BR><BR> He turns back and tells Lucy, "You didn't say 'pleasant dreams'."<BR><BR> Linus is running away from a flying bowl of ice cream.<BR><BR>

No matter how hard you try, you just can’t please Lucy, or, as in this case, even teach her manners, like saying "please"and “thank you.” Just do whatever she wants, with no questions, and that’s it, on the peril of your well-being.

What would have happened if Linus refused to get the ice cream? Would she have killed herself as she threatened or would she have just slugged Linus?

After the fourth panel, I wonder if Linus could have been thinking “Hey, sounds like a plan.”
