Wilberforce: Know why I like watching football games better in person than on TV?
Brutus: Because you enjoy the excitement of being part of a crowd of spectators?
Wilberforce: No - because there aren't any commercials!
Let’s see. I can watch the game in the comfort of my home and enjoy the company of my family. Or I can go a game, sit on an uncomfortable bench seat, drink overpriced, watered down soft drinks, and endure the presence of loud, foul-mouthed abusive drunks. Which do you think I will choose?
That’s a big advantage, but I’ve found DVRs (TiVo) take care of the problem, just turn off the phone, put away the social networks, and that avoids the spoilers. Use the DVR to delay the game’s onset by about 1 hour, and you can kiss the commercials good-bye!

But you still have to wait for all the TV timeouts. It’s amazing how fast a college game (small college) that isn’t televised goes by.

Unless you’re playing the game, football in ‘real life’ is boring as all get out.
