Most of our cats ignore the fish. The only one that doesn’t knows she’s not allowed to eat the fish, and so won’t give them a second look if someone’s watching her. If you leave her alone, however, it can be a different story. I say “can”, because it depends entirely upon how bored she is. Typically, she’ll mind her manners and leave them be. But if she’s terribly bored, she finds them irresistible. Fortunately, she can’t open the lid to their tanks and three gallons of water is no easy thing to push off the shelf so she always gets caught in the act (nobody will leave her alone with the fish for long, and there is a door, so she can be kept out if need be. There’s just no predicting how bored she is).
