There are lots of bridges that cross the Mississippi, some which are no longer used for vehicular traffic. They could use one of those. Little Dog and Tortie, be sure to visit The Arch if you’re in St. Louis.
Hitch a ride on a steamboat, Little Dog. Wait until it comes to shore and jump on. Tortie can hang on to your back.
