Doonesbury by Garry Trudeau for October 16, 2013
Transcript:
Zonker: Obviously you don't recognize me, my good man. I'm Viscount St. Austell-In-The-Moor Biggleswade-Brixham! Butler: I'm sure you are, sir... but, without an invitation, I'm afraid you're just another security risk. Please move on. Sam: But I have to get in, mister. I have to! Butler: Indeed. And why would that be, miss? Sam: I'm destined to marry Prince Harry! Butler: Well, why didn't you say so? This way, miss! Sam: Yay! Zonker: Huh?

I find this incredibly cringe worthy.

This is one of the most ridiculous Doonesbury story lines of all time.

I think that if they would have dressed as the Doctor and companion, they would have been ushered through a lot quicker.

For those who donât remember this from the first time round, wait and seeâŠ
Zonkerâs title is a good in-joke for British readers. St Austell is in Cornwall, most places âin the moorâ are somewhere up north, Brixham is a seaside town in Devon, and Biggleswade is a really rather boring place in Bedfordshire. Itâs a bit like being the congressman for Chicago-on-sea, Texas.

âI hope Sam has been reading recent supermarket tabs.â
Yes, I saw one a day or so ago that mentioned a âprincessâ for Harry.

Last time I read this strip I said that she was going to be put with all the other girls who were destined to marry Prince Harry.
