of course. that is the easiest and best way to assist a basset into a car.….and it is a good idea to not let them jump the two feet or so distance from the car to the ground. it causes serious neck problems if done repeatedly —-it’s too much weight coming down hard and the neck absorbs the shock…..assist gravity by supporting him down slowlysorry to preach but…..been there, done that
The easiest way to lift a long-bodied dog from the first panel position is to slip a towel under them just in front of the back legs and raise – particularly good after a muddy walk as you can give their low underbelly a rub off at the same time.
