Earthworm soup is a popular dish in China and thought to cure fevers. Oak trees are more likely to be hit by lightning than any other type of tree. Ex-Argentinian president Juan Peron kept the embalmed body of his wife, Evita, and his dining room for several years after her death.

Methinks Isabel (Juan’s wife after Eva) was growing tired of seeing Eva day in and day out in the dining room. Also, WHY is oak the more likely tree to be hit by lightning?

Oaks(especially Valley Oaks) are full of surprises..There’s a famous one down in Temecula, Ca that is so big and so wide that a large group of local Indians hold ceremonies under its branches..Here, in the Santa Clara valley, it’s not unusual to hear what sounds like a gunshot during the summer and find it’s actually a two ton branch of a oak tree falling..

Second to the oak tree is the yew, which is why they were sacred to the druids. Deep roots that were more likely to reach the water table. The fire ignited in trees by lightning was considered sacred as it came directly from the gods.
