"there, now you have a choice, pal. I can either site you for a broken taillight, a busted mirror...or you can buy a pair of tickets to tonight's police association charity ball."
Reminds me of a joke: Cop pulls a pretty girl over for speeding and tells her that she’s getting a ticket. “To the Police Ball?” she asks excitedly. “No, police don’t have Balls” he replies. After a moment of awkward silence, he tips his hat to her and returns to his car – without giving her a ticket.
He’s probably like my town police. Took out all the cams. Claimed they didn’t work in the cold. In reality, the cops were the only ones getting busted by them.
I know this comment is late, but I’m a little behind. Truth is stranger than fiction. There is a police chief in Union County PA who was cited because he gave drivers a way out of speeding tickets if they made a donation to a playground fund.

I’ll let the grammar police handle this (or should it be the dictionary police?).

The Police Association Charity Ball? Don’t they support victims of crime?
