Fun Fact I: The fedora originally WAS a woman’s hat, albeit of a deliberately androgynous sort. It was made famous by the actress Sarah Bernhardt, who wore one in the 1889 play Fédora, and was a popular symbol of the women’s rights movement. The first notable man to sport one was Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII, still later Duke of Windsor) in 1924.
