Unfortunately I take after my dad, rest his soul, and we always had to ask mom how to spell things. At 87 she’s my live spell checker unless I’m on here then spell check works here!
Spellchecks: marginally better than dictionaries for words you don’t know how to spell; totally useless if you accidentally spelled a totally different word – does there, their, or to, too, two ring any bells?
I’m constantly spelling words for my husband. He never did well in English class. He’s better at math than I am. I can do simple arithmetic, but anything beyond that forget it.
