A surgeon I know was talking about how in the 19th century, women who were assisted in childbirth by nurses did better than those assisted by doctors. The nurses washed their hands between patients. The doctors by and large did not. Doctors, you see, were gentlemen. Gentlemen, by definition, have clean hands.

medicine + magical thinking = death

I wanted to be a doctor, but I didn’t have the patiences. I also thought about being surgeon, but didn’t think I could cut it.

John, at this age, I don’t have to research ANYthing. Everything IS my strong suit, but I just couldn’t let an old joke get ruined by its bad expression. I’ve found where Spell-Check lives in the dim-lit cellar of this boxatransistors and KILLED it ! Some day you’ll look back and think; “Ooooh !THAT’S what he meant !!” >wink!<
