winter haikus in the empty space immortal beneath the soot parking lot snow pile. jello from a mold wet sand from an upturned pail laughable hat hair. 10 0 10 muffled scream agh if i hear that phrase "mass of arctic air" once more i think i will scream. boy: whine whine whine whine whine adults are like, so wimpy girl: snow days suit me fine.

When the snow pile melted in a supermarket lot near me, lo and behold, a car was found mashed up beside the fence.

The 5-7-5 model seems so depressing in this weather. Maybe haiku fit better with Spring….

My city dumps the snow cleared from streets in a field near the edge of the city. We had so much snow last winter that the dump site never melted completely, and was still 11 feet high when they started puting THIS year’s snow on it.

I love the way the snow pile is depicted as a dirty black mess; much more realistic.
