Elly: You know, Mom, I thought getting married would make me grow up. But now I'm a mother and I still feel and act like a child! When does the day come that you actually become a mature adult?
Marian: I don't know. I'm over 60, and I'm still waiting!
When I was in my thirties, I asked a very sophisticated older lady if you ever get to the point where you can say, “I’m mature.” She said, “You know, I don’t think you ever do.”
I’m nearly 80 now, and as the cartoon lady says, I’m still waiting.
