    I bet we’ve all had a tree like that. No matter how hard you try it just doesn’t look straight and we give up fiddling with it.

    Oh, the misapplication of a good tool. That edge is vertical however that is not the desired effect, it should be equally crooked as the other side or just stick the level inside the tree along the trunk.
