Maybe Jim will take us for a ride through yesteryear, and let us see reprints or maybe redoes of the old Walt Wallet adventures from the 30’s and 40’s.
Old folks sometime remember the old days better than the current days……or maybe it’s just that the younger folks just assume that the ‘old days’ stories are accurate.
Yeah, I think this is the year for Walt. Sad in a way (these ARE comics), because I started reading Gasoline Alley in 1970 when I was ten, and Walt’s always been there.
That’s the thing about strips like this one and others such as For Better or For Worse and even Luann: You get to LIKE the characters because they’re depicted in a pretty human fashion and you feel like you get to “know” them. That’s why we feel something when even a fictional character like Walt Wallet seems to be facing his final days.

Don’t do it Walt! Every time they interview “the oldest person,” they soon die!

I’d like to see stories from the old days. And considering how well the artist draws cars, we could see some very interesting old models.
