The Sarpa Salpa fish of the Mediterranean causes hallucinations when eaten and was used as a drug by the Romans. The technology giant Apple launched a clothing line in the 1980s. Wristwatches were regarded as female jewelry until they were issued to soldiers in World War I!

So, the sarpa salpa was kind of like the Roman version of Japanese fugu? I’m a non-military dude who wears a wristwatch AND also reads the clock (24-hour mode) on my cell phone. I’ve no recollection of wearing Giant Apple clothing in the five years I lived in the 80s.
