Budget.

Add a little water, warm it, add crackers or corn chips. Wash it down with a glass o milk. Yum

There’s a cure for that, By the time I’m done putting crackers in my chili you could cut it with a knife.

I suspect Ziggy’s budget doesn’t include “IHOP”

The chili should be thick, just don’t think describing it as semi-liquid makes very appetizing.
