Before I was born my family moved from a small house to a farm, but they had to move before my father finished building the house (yes, he build it himself) so they spent the summer living in the barn. My brother was born about that time and spent the first several months of his life in the barn. I’ll always remember the time he came into the house and left the door wide open and without thinking my mom asked him, “were you raised in a barn?” and he replied, “Yes.” They both laughed about that one.

patlaborvi: There is an old Ozark saying that a barn can build a house, but a house can’t build a barn.
