The famous American Poet Laureate Ogden Nash once wrote a poem on this subject- something along the lines of "banks must only lend money to people who don’t need it. I’d recommend Ogden Nash as an author in general, because his poetry is hilarious.
“Wizard of Id” once had a strip where the Duke (I think, or maybe it was the lawyer) was trying to arrange a loan: “Your interest is pretty high, isn’t it?” “On the contrary, I could care less.”
