Today is a sad anniversay for me. I lost one of the loves of my life, and even though it was years ago, I ask you to understand that today, I need to speak/post from my heart, and the following lets me do that. He was such a huge part of my heart. You can never convince me that a Doberman is a mean dog. He was such a joy and had a tremendous sense of humor, and was such a lover. He thought he was a lap dog, and I guess he was at that. Aint no such thing as a mean Dobie! And thats the truth!
I wish in a way that I had not dreamed of him, but then, he was a dream dog. Just the best I have ever known. When I cross that rainbow bridge, I expect to meet many critters, but I will run toward this boy, and his buddies, and never look back!
Thank you for letting me share, I just miss him and the joy he brought into our lives. My son thought he was his dog, but I knew different. He was by my side all during his life. He loved to go with me in the car and it didnt matter where. People would ask who my black friend was, and one absolutely wouldnt believe it was my dog. I have so many joyous memories of Jamison!
Fellow Baby WKRP arrived last night. I saw the first three episodes. The first two I already had on an 8-show tape collection, but the third was not on it. Yet, it was as though I had seen the show only yesterday. It was the one that Les gets accused of being gay, whil Johnny tells Herb that Jennifer was a man. Some great laughs. I’m really going to enjoy this.
Love this strip. That’s what dogs do for us, lift us up when we’re low. (not Eldo’s strip snerk) Thank you so much for shareing, Ruth and everyone.
Ruth no need to apologize. I have lost my best buddies too. Especially my Teddy and Gallagher, who pretty much grew up together, had them for 17 years each, my 2 rescue mutts, and Susie, my yellow Lab who I only had for 3 years, my dear Hannah Bee kitty born on my back porch and passed at the age of 16 years and 4 days. And a few others, but those 4 really touched my heart. I dream of Teddy and Gallagher the most, the others, every now and then. It makes me happy and it is like for that time they are there with me for real again.
And my friend had a Dobie, Belinda. She was a SWEETHEART!
Wet and Soggy and all who a remembering lost pets, a big HUG! Dogs and our pets of all kinds are part of us for too short a time on earth, but forever in our hearts.
Last night I met an amazing group of young street kids for an art program. Every single one of them owned a large dog- and they were well kept. And gentle too. This was indoors, and apart from one 13 year old male who was feeling his oats over a female in heat, ahem, in a church! there was no fighting. One dog was part coyote. He was beautiful, but weird. He didn’t play like the other dogs. He just watched with a sort of wary look, even though I am told he knew the other dogs well.

It is so sad to lose a pet because their time with us is so short. Hooray, for pets who remind us to live our lives being happy!
