You know, it just hit me how surreal this strip has become over the years.

Personal experience has proven that right behind the plow is ALWAYS the whiteout, because the plow is what is kicking all the snow up into the air, where it gets caught in the vortexes. Fall back and give him room.

How we do it in Ontario along the Highway 401 is efficient. We have those plows on trucks, that turn 75 degrees. See image.The third truck, you’ll notice, has a trailer that is angled away from him. The wheels actually rotate and are driving straight along the highway. These ‘convoys’ of trucks will move at ~20-40kmh depending on conditions. All snow is funnelled to the outside of the road.
