Homer the Reluctant Soul continues... Bounty Hunters found us and would take us dead or alive. I wasn't a fighter, but my mother always said the best way to deal with bullies was head-on, so... But that didn't mean I had to stand up to them alone. Homer: Thank you...and your friends, Duncan. Hope: Good boy! Bert: So you were the leader of the wolf pack?! Duncan: Of course! Homer: As word spread, we didn't have to worry about bounty hunters anymore... ...But we didn't realize it would bring about another kind of hunt... Emperor: A threat to the empire? What is it, another rebellion? Man: No, sir...worse than that... ...Sorcery! Emperor: *gasp*

Thing is, Cap’n Eddie stories have a habit of being true. For instance one of his previous arctic tales ended with everyone looking at him like “yeah, right” until they noticed the polar bear on one of the bar stools…Or the story of how the apes on Mars came to worship him. Lars confirmed that one (or maybe Danae and Jeffery saw the statues of Cap’n Eddie on Mars first and then asked Eddie about them after they got back to Earth, I can’t remember).

With all the great stuff here day after day, Homer’s one of my favorites. Look forward to it every Sunday.

I LOVE this story line. It’s like the movie serials from the ’30s and ’40s, except the segues are better!

Homer reincarnated as Baron Munchausen and even later as Ross, the owner and sales guy for Ross motors in Orlando, Fla.

Nabuquduriuzhur said: “Even if someone got convinced somehow, why would sorcery bother them? It was commonplace in different cults. Sorcery was synonymous with drugs (back then the drugs were pot, henbane, various halucinagens, etc.)”
It was a political thing. Most of the “sorcery” practiced by the cults of that period (divination, fertility rites, weather prediction/control, etc.) was practiced by cults approved of by and in the name of the Emperor. All other sorcery was considered dangerous because it wasn’t being controlled under the authority of the Empire. It’s pretty much the same story as the practice of witchcraft a few centuries later. The Church had it’s approved “sorcery” (miracles) and rites (Mass, Vespers, etc.), but persecuted the hell out of anyone else (see what I did there?) who dared to try to out-magic them.

some religious people still believe in sorcery, but they use microwave ovens. they also believe the earth is flat, but fly on vacation. they believe evolution is from the pits of hell, but get flu shots every year.
