What’s the other 90% of America’s annual rice crop used for? I’m sort of surprised Vladimir’s name isn’t Pavel.

Even if Putin was the reincarnation of Apostle Paul, Paul would not want to be worshipped. It was tried by the citizens of Lycaonia in Acts 14:8-18. Paul and his associate Barnabas stopped the worship and said “Sirs, why do ye do these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, who made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them;”

If you want the background context to this Putin business, look up “Third Rome”. Anyone who knew much about the traditional incestuous relationship between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian state pretty much saw this coming. The big question is whether he’ll actually have the chutzpah to assume the style of “Tsar”, as Ivan the Terrible did. I /think/ it’s too unfashionable a direction to go, but you never know—Napoleon I pulled it off only 15 years after the “Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen”, and the ridiculous Napoleon III did it again only 48 years later.

I didn’t know that “drunken boxing” was real. But I assume you don’t get better at it the more you actually drink.

Incest has nothing to do with anything; it’s a metaphor. For the rest, as I said, look up “Third Rome”. (Short version: Putin and his followers believe the same blasphemous scat that Sarah Palin does, except about Russia instead of America.)

I agree that this stuff is both schismatic and heretical (there is no such word as “refudiated”), but that doesn’t mean that Putin isn’t lapping up that old батюшка vodka in private.
