That reminds me when those morons gave the Oscar to “A Beautiful Mind” in place to “TLoTR: The Fellowship of the Ring” only because it was a fantasy movie.

Except the first academy awards were not held until 1929. But since the honorees dated back to ’27, I am sure there is a loophole there
