I remember making a fuss when I couldn’t find my Littlefoot doll for bed, and when Mom located him and brought him to me, she said he was crying for me, too.

This is one of the big reasons I’ve loved Calvin for the last 20+ years. The intelligence, wit, and humanity of the characters is unparalleled in today’s strips.

Best friends are the most valuable.

Anyone (and yes, Hobbes is someone) who provides warmth and safety and a sense of groundedness in your life is of inestimable value, whether that person be human, furred friend, or plush.

This is “Calvin and HOBBES”, not just “Calvin”. So I expect the ol’ Hobbster to pounce any time soon.

I’ve had the same experience. This is one I cut out of the paper years ago—glad I can print a new copy for my ’fridge. /sniff/

Every time I wonder why I bother reading a cartoon strip that’s thirty years old and reading it for the umpteenth time, one like this appears and I’m hooked all over again.

It isn’t allergies; because the Allegra isn’t helping. Damn, I remember when our dog of 16 years passed some 7 years ago. It was harder on me than when my mother died. It may be just a comic strip; but, I can see where some will shed tears. Just remember, Wylie E Coyote took many a crash and came back for another attempt at capturing Road Runner.
