My mother always used to tell me that at least I’m not a Kurd. Apparently back then, Kurds were poor people displaced by wars in Eastern Europe or somewhere. I never liked having to acknowledge war victims to feel better about my life.
But now this return comes with a new perspective. They’re sitting on opposite sides than they were before.
