@afficionado: Nicolai II Romanov was the one without surviving children af 1918. Zar Alexander, his father, had five more children, so a blood link to him is not impossible. I personally can trace my family back to 1187 and has found out I am related to several persons noted in the history of my native country plus a few more. I do however like to be judged on my own qualificatons and not those of ancestors.
As rundstyk pointed out, there are still Romanovs around. Nicholas II’s two sisters, , Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna and Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna both survived the revolution and their descendants survive to this day.
Booze causes amnesia: it makes you forget how much a hangover hurts! Thus all those “never again” promises that drinkers make (and break…….) This one was quite funny (of course, some water drips left-over from the canal, and a few spare beer cans on the floor could have improved it…..)
I know this has already been pointed out but I love it when people who drink too much always say “Never again” when they wake up with a raging hangover. Then what do they do the following night?
