My little dog, on the other hand, will turn his nose up on almost everything, including steak, chicken, or liver scraps and all the premium dog food brands we’ve tried. At this point, I put down food twice a day and if he’s hungry….he’ll eat at some point. He’s healthy, gets plenty of exercise and is at a good weight, so it doesn’t make any sense to get bothered by it. He is the finickiest dog we’ve ever had!
Thank goodness he’s house-trained and will obey some basic commands like “Stay!”, “Stop!”, “No!” and well as respond to high praise…because it’s useless to rely on any treats to assist with training. He’s just not interested.
My son-in-law’s lab/pit mix (huge dog) would get nudged away from his food bowl by the tiger cat, He would sit there and watch the cat eat his food and whine. Then he would go and eat the cats food.
Ok… I was late this today. It’s 11:20pm EST, and I JUST got home from my trip.Train left London 7:50pm (10min late.)Got into Toronto 5 minutes late at 9:56pm.Got home at 11:10pm. 75 minutes to get home.
My Boston Terrier was on dry food for a couple of years. One fateful evening we ran out, yes, stupid, I know. Father-in-law owned a restaurant and said he would bring back scraps. Fitz never ate dried food again. Would literally run away from it. But seeing the “scraps” the old man brought in made me hungry, too! Such a waste, but not with Fitz around.
