First full scale collision isn’t scheduled until January.
This collider could have been built in the US, but the administration at the time the decision was being made could not think into the future, so it was killed and now the center of Physics research has moved to Europe. A great loss to this country.
CERN research Center has been working there for decades.
It’s the biggest institution making studies in advanced physics… Another demonstration that the world is advancing somewhere else…
I heard the experiment they did (or will do) can cause mini black holes that could (theorically) destroy the earth…
It already exists here and it’s called a sofa crack.
