The old washer is in bad shape! It not that old! Sure about that? The front and back panels have come undone...the counter weight needs some recalibration.... your motor and bearings are totally worn out.... you must wash a lot of clothes marcy. cloth diapers switching to them was your idea.

My granny would do the wash every Monday morning in a huge round iron pot that hung over a wood fire out back. She would stir it with a wooden stick. She used lye soap that she made herself from lye and hog fat (she grew the hogs, too). She reared nine kids. Just thinking about all this makes me tired.

Looks to me as though Marcy should watch what she says to Charlene. Charlene’s working for free, isn’t she?

But you have saved MORE than the price of the washing machine, but not buying those expensive throw away diapers.

Make sure your washers and dryers are made with metal and NOT plastic gears. What a shame that we have to pay out extra big bucks for what used to be standard made.

Yes, using cloth diapers still happens today. I chose to use them for two children. I could not justify contributing plastic disposals to landfills. Kudos to Robb Armstrong for today’s stance.
