I believe for-profit TV makes people stupid with how it glamorizes stupid behaviors, such as non-responsibility, ignorance, indifference, irreverence, physical violence without consequences, etc., ad nauseam. Our economy continues to soar in large part because of it.
The small town of Nain, Labrador had a problem about 10 years ago with its young people sniffing gasoline, an inexpensive product readily available with no controls or age restrictions for its purchase.
@BEERGood question. I don’t know and don’t remember hearing of a follow up. I heard the news on Canadian Broadcasting Co., which I can easily receive since I reside about 55 km. from their stations.
@BEERApparently gasoline sniffing is still a problem in Labrador, with other communities of Davis Inlet, Natuashish and Sheshatshiu, according to CBC News website. Last report I saw was Oct., ’13. The children mentioned are Inuit (Eskimo) and the once nomadic Innu. Nain is not accessible by road.

Teenagers may think they know everything, Us older folks (68) admit we may not know everything, but we certainly have an opinion on everything.

The day I went to boot camp in the Marines is the day I learned I didn’t know everything.
