“Even simple bird-feeding gets cautionary warnings. You can’t win”~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Agreed. I can’t feed birds, but my squirrel gets only salt-free peanuts once in a while. Salt kills their kidneys PDQ, so as long as he and his cousins stay outta my house, he/they get fedpretty goodly.
We had all sorts of birds at our last house. Lovely big feeder. The Scrub Jay would even come sit on our knee to get a peanut! It’s so much fun to watch them. There are a lot here, but no feeder.

How do the birds get at the seed once the roof is back on? Does it spill out the bottom?

We do this, plus the separate feeder for the squirrels. I love this one, thanks Gary!

I love listening to the birds. My daughter lives on 5 acres of forest and gets a symphony – especially in the morning.
