Did anyone else feel compelled to look Professor Rubik up? He wasn’t bald, didn’t have a mustache, and was a much younger man five minutes after inventing his cube.
I say this just as a curiosity, not an actual criticism.
A handful of geniuses can solve them without hesitation. For the rest of us, there are a few basic algorithms for switching colors in specific locations. The instructions usually come packaged with the cube. Learn those and anyone can make it look pretty simple.

I never got much below ninety seconds on it.
If I’m remembering the story correctly, it was invented almost simultaneously by someone in Japan.
